Role Purpose
The Vice President, Events leads the planning, coordination, and execution of MSF’s signature events and program-related initiatives. This role ensures that all events—from mentorship meetups to large-scale galas—are delivered professionally, aligned with MSF’s mission, and provide a high-impact experience for participants, sponsors, and the community. The VP will also mentor and guide a team of volunteers to achieve event goals effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee the overall events strategy, ensuring alignment with MSF’s mission and program objectives
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of volunteers, including Event Coordinators and support staff, guiding them to complete tasks efficiently and to a high standard
- Plan and execute MSF programs and events, including logistics, scheduling, venue coordination, and participant communications
- Collaborate with internal teams (mentorship, marketing, communications) to ensure seamless integration of events into MSF’s initiatives
- Ensure events reflect MSF's values, fostering an inclusive, engaging, and professional experience for all participants
- Track and evaluate event performance, gathering feedback to continuously improve future initiatives
- Oversee vendor relationships and serve as the main point of contact for external partners during event planning and execution
Qualifications / Ideal Profile
- 7–10 years of experience in event management, program coordination, or related fields
- Proven experience leading and mentoring teams
- Strong organizational, logistical, and project management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Creative, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic volunteer environment
Team Structure
- Event Coordinators (multiple, depending on city/program)
- Volunteer support staff (as assigned)
What This Role Is Not
- Not responsible for creating content or marketing strategy
- Not responsible for sponsorship management outside of events
